'Every day has been an ongoing struggle' Family of missing Kandice Singbeil plead for public's help

The family of missing woman Kandice Singbeil are stepping forward in an effort to bring their daughter home safely.
 
“Somebody knows something. Nobody just disappears,” mother Pauline Singbeil said at the Saskatoon police headquarters. It’s the first time the family is speaking since Singbeil’s disappearance six months ago. Singbeil’s partner reported her missing on May 28 after she was last seen two days before in downtown Saskatoon.
 
The family, who live in Swift Current, described Singbeil, known as Kae to friends and family, as a free-spirit with a generous heart and a contagious laugh. At the same time they also recognized Singbeil had struggled with mental health and substance abuse.
 
“But we never ever thought we would ever get that dreaded phone call that said she was missing,” Pauline said. “We are left with a huge hole in our hearts and a never-ending worry in our minds. Every day has been an ongoing struggle.”
 
Police do not have any leads on the case and have asked the public to come forward with any information. Acting Staff Sgt. Tyson Lavalee said police have interviewed more than 50 people and have not ruled out anyone as a suspect.
 
Pauline said it has been difficult to explain Singbeil’s disappearance to the 33-year-old’s two children.
 
“Her son (Nethan) will be nine year’s old next week and it is very hard for him to understand why she can’t be there to celebrate his birthday and Christmas,” Pauline said. “Her daughter (Kaestin), now nearly 10-months old, will not get to spend her first Christmas with her mom.”

Police were able to track some of her movements the night she went missing, through video surveillance from businesses.
 
Neither Singbeil nor her partner had a fixed address and were living at a friend’s apartment in the Traveller’s Block at 228 Third Avenue South.
 
Early morning on May 25, Singbeil was seen walking in the north alley of the apartment. Later she was seen riding her “distinctive Super-Cycle Cruiser” bicycle on Third Avenue. Police have not found the bike, which has whitewall tires and a faux-wood grain chain guard.

At 10 p.m. that night Singbeil was seen walking towards the apartment then three hours later, she was seen riding her bike north on Third Avenue. Singbeil is described as Caucasian, five-feet four-inches tall and 166 pounds, with shoulder length brown and blonde hair. She wears glasses and has a lower-lip piercing.
