It’s sad that another John Tortorella post-game media conference, which lasted 45 seconds, is getting air time, but it is.
Tortorella walked away from reporters Thursday after three legitimate questions following the Blue Jackets’ 4-1 loss to Washington.
I don’t have a problem with a coach saying “no comment.” It is a coach’s right to keep information away from the media.
It happens all the time. I’m not offended by that. Very few pro coaches, in any sport, let the media know things they don’t want the media to know.
I also know that there are some rude people in the media. There are reporters in pro sports who don’t deserve to be given any information from coaches and players.
It amazes me though when pro coaches and athletes either aren’t capable of providing, or don’t respect their fans enough to provide, some answers to ticket buyers and fans through the media.
It saddens me when the media outlets then give these non-insightful outbursts air time.
