More adult players are now investing in the protective equipment.
A brand new episode of Corner Gas aired on network television Monday night for the first time since 2009, but this time Dog River exists in animation.
The new animated show that premiered on the Comedy Network is a continuation of the hit live-action show which ran for six seasons on CTV and the Comedy Network.
The Saskatchewan-born and raised creator and star of Corner Gas, Brent Butt joined the CJME Morning Show to talk about the experience.
“It’s a fun way to get everybody together, do some more episodes, have some laughs – without everybody having to uproot for half the year,” Butt explained.
Butt said it has been interesting to learn how to make an animated series.
“It reminded me of season one of doing the live action show because I had to learn how to deliver a TV series and I’d never done that before, I’d only ever done specials or one-offs,” he explained.
Butt added it’s not too strange to see himself on screen in cartoon form.
“I kind of see myself in my head as a cartoon so for me, this is a very easy transition. It feels like I’ve spent my whole life trying to de-cartoon myself and now I can let it go,” he joked.
He is happy with how the cartoon turned out and likes to hear from people that it’s just like watching more Corner Gas.
New episodes air at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. Monday nights on the Comedy Network.
