Whether it be a cough or a sniffle, flu cases have run rampant across Saskatchewan this year.
Numbers published by the ministry of health show confirmed flu cases rose by more than 94 per cent in the last month — up from 1,143 confirmed cases on Jan. 6 to 2,227 cases on Feb. 10.
That means there have been more confirmed flu cases through the first week of February than all of last flu season.
Between Sept. 1, 2016 and April 15, 2017, there were 1,901 flu cases. Between Sept. 1, 2017 and Feb. 10, there have been 2,227 confirmed cases of the flu.

Eleven people in the province have died from the flu this season compared to four deaths last year.
The majority of those affected by the flu are considered working age, between 20 and 64 years old.
Last season, working-age people were least affected by the flu.
