Three men were arrested in Regina early Thursday on drug charges, and it’s not the first time two of them have been in handcuffs.
According to the Regina Police Service, officers raided a home at 2 a.m. on the 2700 block of 12th Avenue, near Angus Street downtown. Inside, officers found money, open alcohol, several cell phones, and what they believe is cocaine.
Three men were arrested: Zabur Bakari Abdalla, 23, Christian Karuranga, 28, and 22-year-old Mohamad Hassan Moalin. All three are charges with possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime, and possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Abdalla and Karuranga are also charged with multiple counts of failure to comply with recognizance. Moalin has an additional charge of obstruction of a peace officer.
Abdalla and Karuranga have been arrested together before. In Februrary 2013, they were arrested and charged with sexual assault and forcible confinement. In November 2012, they were charged after allegedly attacking and robbing a cab driver.
All three made their first court appearance on these charges Thursday afternoon.
