OK Adam Silver, you are up! The commissioner of the NBA needs to properly discipline men who are behaving badly.
On Monday night the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers played in a chippy game where, on more than one occasion, players nearly came to blows.
Blake Griffin of the Clippers collided with Houston coach Mike D’Antoni at one point, triggering more fireworks.
Following the game there was a report of police presence as Rockets players tried to make their way to the Clippers locker room. On Tuesday night Orlando’s Arron Afflalo took a swing at Minnesota’s Nemanja Bjelica leading to both players getting ejected.
Sports are emotional and tensions boil over. I get it. However, NBA players are crossing a line that shouldn’t be crossed. The age-old argument of players policing themselves seldom works. It won’t with these players.
It’s time for the NBA to step in, and be heavy-handed, to ensure highly paid athletes behave properly.
