Rain or shine, Saskatoon’s downtown will be bustling with activity.
Rock 102’s Show and Shine weekend runs Friday until Sunday.
The events include a sold out Rock the River at the Bessborough Gardens, which runs all weekend. Performers include Chilliwack, April Wine, Saga, Kenny Shields and Streetheart, Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad, Carol Pope of Rough Trade, The Stampeders, Kim Mitchell and Trooper.
There will be street legal racing at the Saskatchewan International Raceway at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. A night of racing at the Auto Clearing Motor Speedway begins at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, a poker rally at Tiger Automotive runs from 10 a.m. until noon. The alcohol funny car feature at the international raceway is during the afternoon. The gates open at 2 p.m.
Sunday includes the famous show and shine portion of the weekend, with over 900 classic vehicles taking over downtown Saskatoon. The event, which runs from 11 a.m. till 5 p.m. is western Canada’s biggest car show.
Anyone can bring their car downtown between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Vehicles must be 1995 or older.

Drivers are being reminded not to park downtown on Saturday night because vehicles will be towed early Sunday morning to make room for the car show.
The Hub City Optimist pancake breakfast will take place downtown Sunday from 8 a.m. till 11 a.m. A barbecue in support of the Mayor’s Gala will take place at 11 a.m. at the Scotiabank downtown on Sunday morning.
