RCMP reported sad news amid a continuing investigation into a house fire on a First Nation about 300 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.
Police said Wednesday morning that investigators had found a body at the scene of the fire on the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation.
Loon Lake RCMP and firefighters responded to the blaze around 3 a.m. Sunday morning.
At that time, a 32-year-old woman was reported missing while a number of other people were reported to have escaped the home with minor injuries.
Police said they had yet to confirm whose remains had been recovered and that the woman remained listed as missing pending results of an autopsy scheduled for Wednesday.
Investigators have yet to determine what caused the fire.
