Berkly Catton, Brayden Yager, Caden Price and Tanner Howe were all named.
Some media members in the province, and many in Rider Nation, are of the mind that Zach Collaros’ arrival in Riderville greatly improves Saskatchewan’s chances of getting to the 2018 Grey Cup game.
I’ve often said the beauty of this nine-team league is that any team can catch fire and have a shot.
To those media members and fans, optimism is always a great trait to have. So, kudos.
Realistically, if Collaros wins the starting job in Saskatchewan in 2018, then the Rider brain trust needs to build up confidence in a quarterback who’s been battered and benched in recent seasons.
The other thing to consider is Collaros will now face more opponents in the tougher west division than those from the east if he starts in 2018.
I’m not saying the Riders can’t win the division and get to the Grey Cup game with Collaros.
I’m just not sure that Collaros alone is the component that tips the scales in Saskatchewan’s favour ahead of players like Bo-Levi Mitchell and Mike Reilly in the always-tough CFL west.
