The Regina Red Sox have a chance to advance to the Western Major League Baseball finals Monday night.
“The combination of timely hitting, good pitching, and good defence has really paid off for us right now,” said General Manger Bernie Eiswirth.
The Red Sox collected a 1-0 win over the Weyburn Beavers Sunday to take a 2-0 series lead.
Skyler Shaw-Fuss pitched a complete game giving up just three hits and one walk while collecting four strikeouts. Tanner Stokey scored Regina’s only run in the sixth inning.
As for Monday night, Eiswirth is hoping Currie Field will be packed.
“The red hot Blue Jays are off tonight so if everybody wants their baseball fix tonight, the place to get it is at Currie Field,” said Eiswirth.
“When we get 800 to 1,000 people in that park, it’s a great atmosphere to watch a ball game.”
Game three of this best-of-five series begins at 7:05 p.m.
