A Saskatoon man is facing disturbing allegations of trying to arrange the sexual abuse of a child earlier this month.
The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit said it began its investigation into the suspect’s online activity Dec. 4, in relation to some concerning posts officers had found.
The man was allegedly trying to arrange – with an unnamed woman – a sexual offence against a child.
In a news release Friday, police said their brief investigation led to the arrest of 35-year-old Brendan D. Olynick from Saskatoon.
He is charged with arranging to commit a sexual offence against a child.
Olynick was held in custody and appeared in Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Saskatoon on Dec. 22.
His next appearance at the same courthouse will be on Dec. 28 at 10 a.m.
