While the RCMP aren’t saying much about the murder of a woman in the village of McLean, Saskatchewan’s premier is offering condolences to her family.
RCMP have identified the victim as 47-year-old Lisa Strang. On the Saskatchewan Party Facebook page, Brad Wall has identified Lisa Strang as a friend and colleague.
According to the post, Lisa Strang was the director of finance for the Sask Party for 11 years.
James Thorsteinson, president of the Sask. Party, worked closely with Strang for nearly 10 years.
“She was an amazing person. She was always there for everybody. She’d take the time and help walk you through any problems that you had or questions that you had.”
Thorsteinson said the party’s office will be closed for a couple of days, and grief counsellors will be brought in to help Strang’s co-workers deal with the shock.
Police have arrested and charged 48-year-old John Robert Strang with first-degree murder. Mounties say John Strang and Lisa Strang were “in a relationship” and living together.
RCMP say an autopsy will be done on Lisa Strang in Saskatoon this week.
