A pair of young boys are facing charges for allegedly stealing a vehicle in Prince Albert before leading police in Saskatoon on a chase through city streets.
It started Monday morning when Saskatoon police attempted a traffic stop after allegedly seeing the vehicle driving erratically on Princess Street.
Police reported that the boys sped off when officers tried to pull them over.
From there, they’re alleged to have just missed hitting two cyclists as they tried to turn off Sixth Avenue onto Duchess Street. Police said the boys were driving too fast to make the turn and ended up slamming into a building before taking off on foot.
One boy, 13, is accused of using bear mace on a pair of civilians who tried to help police take him down. A 43-year-old man had to be treated for the effects of the spray.
The other boy, 14, was arrested without incident a short distance away.
