The Regina Folk Festival has found a replacement for its Sunday night lineup.
The Blind Boys of Alabama will take the stage on Sunday, August 9. The Grammy-award winning group replaces Sinead O’Connor who cancelled all of her summer concerts due to exhaustion.
“We are honoured to add them to the lineup and know that our audience members are going to love their high-energy joyful music,” said Sandra Butel, artistic director and CEO of the festival.
The Blind Boys of Alabama have been recognized with several awards for their six-decade career. They’ve been inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts.
The festival is still offering a full refund for individual Sunday night tickets for those who no longer wish to attend the show Sunday.
The festival gets underway on August 7. More information can be found on the Regina Folk Festival website.
