MORINVILLE, Alta.
There’s a magical place north of Edmonton that is bringing smiles to children’s faces.
Robert Chauvet (SHOW’-veh) spent three-million dollars turning a parking lot in his hometown of Morinville into a fairy-tale-like daycare.
The unique building has a wavy roof, curved wooden doors and a squashed chimney.
Fairies and bunnies are painted on walls, and tree branches stretch into clouds on the ceiling perfect for nap time.
Chauvet, the owner of a local construction company, says the daycare was his retirement project.
And he wanted to build something magical for kids.
He rents most of the building out to the Fable Child Care Centre, which opened in June.
Parent Dave Brooks says children in the daycare always seem happy.
Chauvet and his wife are also hoping to rent out an upstairs space and outside flower garden for weddings and photo shoots.
