A week after arresting and laying first-degree murder charges in a 30-year-old cold case, police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for Henry John Peter for his alleged involvement in the killing of Frances Wendland.
In December 1985, just 11 days before Christmas, police found Wendland’s 43-year-old body bound and gagged and motionless on a bed in her Rosthern home.
At the time police believed two masked men broke into the home, locked three children in the basement and killed Wendland. Police said there was no sign of sexual assault or theft.
Last week Mounties arrested and charged 65-year-old Dennis Henry Hahn in Surrey, B.C. with first-degree murder and unlawful confinement.
Now police are searching for who they believe was the second masked-man involved in killing Wendland three decades ago. Henry Peter has also been charged with the murder of Wendland and the forcible confinement of the three youths.
The last time Peter was seen he was around 6’1″, approximately 200 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes.
