A man from Semans has been arrested and is facing charges for possessing child pornography.
A 70-year-old man was taken into custody on Monday by Punnichy RCMP at his home.
RCMP were dispatched to the home on Sunday after being tipped off that the man had allegedly pointed a firearm at someone while threatening them. During their investigation of the home, RCMP learned that he may be in possession of child pornography.
Through a search warrant executed the following day, several firearms and evidence of the man possessing child pornography were seized.
David Michael MacDonald is charged with possessing child pornography, threatening, use of a firearm while commiting an indictable offence, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and four counts of unsafe storage of firearms.
MacDonald’s first court appearance is set for 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the Regina Provincial Court.
