A Saskatoon man will be sentenced next week for his role in a gang fight at a Saskatoon bar.
On Monday, Bobby Leibel, 26, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault with a weapon in Saskatoon Provincial Court. He was originally charged with attempted murder but pleaded down to a lesser charge.
It stems from an incident on Dec. 14, 2013 when a brawl broke out at the Rock Bottom bar on Broadway Avenue. Bear mace was sprayed after another man, 20-year-old Timothy Muldoon, pulled a sawed-off rifle from his pants and pointed it at a rapper on stage.
Muldoon pleaded guilty to gun-related offenses last year and was sentenced to four years in prison. Court heard he was a member of the Terror Squad and had been ordered by an associate to go to the Broadway Avenue bar and look for Skye Stoney, a rapper who was performing that night.
Terror Squad members had issues with the rappers, stemming from a previous incident at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary, according to the Crown.
