The Grey Cup is still days away, and yet the quarterback watch is on in Riderville for next season.
Without hesitation, time and time again, Chris Jones has said Kevin Glenn was his starting quarterback in 2017.
On more than one occasion, Brandon Bridge came on in relief — and in some cases, was responsible for a win — only to have Jones state Glenn was his starter.
One would have to think that experience and leadership ability led to the season-long endorsement of Glenn.
Not surprisingly, the 38-year-old Glenn believes he can still win. I believe the Riders have to go in a different direction.
Brandon Bridge, who is entering his fourth season, nicely put the situation in to perspective when he said no one aspires to be a back-up quarterback.
If Bridge and offensive co-ordinator Stephen McAdoo work on an off-season offence that plays to Bridge’s strengths, I believe this team can win. My opinion is one of many.
One thing we can all agree on – there is no off-season here in Saskatchewan.
