The Saskatoon Fire Department was called early Tuesday morning to a blaze at a home in the city’s Pacific Heights neighbourhood.
Crews arrived shortly before 6:30 a.m. to find heavy smoke and flames pouring out of a house at 206 Dickey Crescent.
Firefighters searched the home to make sure no one was inside, as others began hosing down the blaze from outside the structure.
A dog was later found dead in a dog house at a neighbouring home.
Investigators were still working Tuesday morning to find out what caused the fire.
Early estimates pegged damages at around $50,000.
