A 29-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter in connection to a death in August.
In a news release Friday, La Loche RCMP said members responded to a report of a break and enter on the nearby Clearwater River Dene Nation on Aug. 10.
During that investigation, RCMP found an unresponsive man outside a residence in the community.
RCMP said local EMS responded, however, 41-year-old Bradley Scott Lemaigre from Clearwater River Dene Nation was later declared dead at the scene.
After further investigation, 29-year-old Rodney Martin Janvier, also from Clearwater, was arrested without incident Tuesday.
He was subsequently charged with manslaughter.
Janvier has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in La Loche Provincial Court on Oct. 16.
The investigation is ongoing and involves RCMP major crimes unit north, La Loche RCMP, the North Battleford forensic identification section and the provincial coroner’s office.
