Turnor Lake RCMP are looking for 19-year-old Gavin Patrick Montgrand after he escaped custody Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, Montgrand was arrested and in custody at the RCMP detachment around 1:20 p.m. when he escaped.
Despite a search done immediately after police could not find him.
He was last seen wearing black jeans, a black sweater, and black high top running shoes with a bag.
Police say he is Indigenous, six feet tall and has a scar with stitches on the right side of his face above his cheek bone.
In a media release, police said Montgrand could be heading to Prince Albert or Saskatoon.
Officials do not believe he is dangerous but recommend people do not approach him.
Turnor Lake is about 45 kilometres east of La Loche.
