A 51-year-old man from Wynyard is facing a lengthy list of criminal charges after police seized a trove of illegal items during a traffic stop last month.
According to police, officers stopped a vehicle on B Avenue in Wynyard on March 12 at around 2 a.m. “in relation to an ongoing investigation.”

“During searches of the vehicle and following his arrest, officers located and seized 132 grams of methamphetamine, 162 grams of marijuana, brass knuckles, identification that didn’t belong to the male, drug paraphernalia and 19 packs of unstamped tobacco,” the Saskatchewan RCMP said in a statement.
“Officers determined that the vehicle was stolen out of Calgary, AB.”
The 51-year-old man has been charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cannabis to distribute, possession of a prohibited weapon, five counts of possession of forged documents, identity theft, removing or altering a VIN number, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of unstamped tobacco and failing to comply with a probation order.
He’s set to appear in provincial court on May 22.
Wynyard is located about 190 kilometres east of Saskatoon.
