On Monday, Regina Police Service charged a 23-year-old with First-Degree Murder and failure to comply with a probation order.
Dontay Bellegarde is set to appear in the Regina Provincial Court on Wednesday morning.
On April 24, at around 5:30 a.m., RPS and EMS were sent out to a call for service in the 800 block of Victoria Avenue.
Police found an injured man, who was declared dead a short time later.
Following further investigation, Regina Police charged 33-year-old Keli Stonechild with first-degree murder on Friday.

After securing the scene, officers requested more help from the Regina Police Service Major Crimes Unit and the Regina Police Service Forensic Identification Unit and an investigation, with the help of the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, began.
The investigation determined the death was the result of a homicide. The victim’s name will not be released at the request of the family.
Regina’s first murder of 2025
Regina Police have laid charges in the Queen City’s first murder of 2025.
39-year-old Dennis Hotomaine has been charged with first-degree murder.
This comes after police were called to the 1500 block of 12th Avenue — near Carmichael Outreach — after 8 p.m. on Feb. 18 for reports of an injured man.
When police arrived, the 46-year-old man was dead.
Officers quickly secured the area and requested additional help from the Regina Police Services Major Crimes Unit, the Regina Police Service Forensic Identification Unit and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
In an email from Carmichael Outreach’s development coordinator, Chrysta Garner, the organization is saddened by the incident.
“This heartbreaking event has left us all in shock and mourning, and our hearts go out to everyone affected, especially the grieving family,” she said. “We stand with them in this difficult time, offering our deepest condolences and unwavering support.”
Carmichael is a non-profit organization. It assists people living in homelessness and poverty.
Regina’s second murder of 2025
Three people have been charged in relation to the death of a 42-year-old Regina man on April 10.
Later that same day, 36-year-old James Dubois, a resident of Regina, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
On April 17, a 38-year-old Regina woman was charged with accessory after the fact to murder
On April 23, a 42-year-old man was also arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
Police and EMS were called to a residence in the 400 block of East College Avenue around 12:20 a.m. on April 10.
Police tried life-saving measures on an injured man, but when EMS arrived, he was declared deceased.
An investigation of the secured scene with Regina Police Service Major Crimes Unit and the Forensic Identification Unit and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service determined it was murder.
On the same day, in Davidson, Sask. the suspect was arrested by Regina Police Service Patrol, SWAT, and Canine Unit, with the assistance of RCMP and the RPS Aerial Support Unit.
