Police said numerous RCMP officers from several detachments responded to the scene, along with a dog unit and the Regina Police Service’s aerial support unit.
“While this incident was unfolding, police officers asked residents of the area to stay indoors and additional police officers were required to help keep the gathering public back from the immediate area due to safety concerns, especially given the firearm theft reported,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“Police officers approached the stolen motorhome and arrested the adult male and an adult female inside without incident.”
Inside the motorhome, the Mounties found two guns and loaded magazines. Officers later searched a home on Woodland Crescent where they seized three more guns and magazines, along with a baton and a knife.
The Regina Beach man is now facing several gun charges, along with a charge of mischief under $5,000 “in relation to an attempted ATM break-in at a business in Regina Beach on April 18.”
The woman who was arrested was released without charges, the RCMP said.
