Two men stabbed on Saturday morning
Police said two men were injured in separate stabbings on Saturday morning.
A 37-year-old man checked into a local hospital for treatment of a stab wound shortly after 10 a.m. According to police, he was attacked roughly an hour earlier near the Weir at 33rd Street and Spadina Crescent East.
“The victim was also robbed of his cell phone by an unknown male,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.
Then, at around 11 a.m., officers were called to the 2300 block of 33rd Street West for a second reported stabbing.
“A 26-year-old man reported having been assaulted in an unknown back alley by three individuals,” the police service explained.
Anyone with information on either assault was asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
Liquor store robbery
On Saturday, a liquor store employee called police around 11 p.m. that a ” a lone, masked male entered the business wielding a gun and demanded the money from the till.”
The suspect fled the scene in the 2400 block of 22nd Street West before the officers arrived.
The news release provided the following description of the suspect:
“The suspect is described as being a young male approximately 5’9” tall. He was wearing a puffy, black winter jacket, a black baseball cap with a black face covering. He wore grey sweatpants with white text on the top, left side, with black shoes and was carrying a black duffel bag. He may have fled in a green, two-door vehicle with a red, rear bumper.”

Loaded firearm
Five firearm-related charges were laid against a 46-year-old man on Sunday.
Saskatoon police got two calls of “an armed individual walking eastbound on Attridge Drive from Circle Drive.”
At roughly 7 a.m., officers found an abandoned SUV at Attridge Drive and Circle Drive.
According to a news release, “they found a man lying on the ground, uninjured, and in possession of a firearm,” which was loaded. The man refused to listen to the police.
Police say they used a less lethal weapon to arrest the man, who was later assessed in hospital for his injuries.
Gas Station Robbery
Saskatoon Police Service currently do not have a suspect description after a robbery of a gas station in the 3300 block of Fairlight Drive on Sunday night.
According to the news release, “a lone man entered the business, pointed a gun at an employee and demanded cash. A physical altercation took place when the employee attempted to restrain the suspect.”
The altercation took place at approximately 8:30 p.m.
The suspect left behind a sweater, bag and imitation firearm. When the man came to retrieve his stuff, the employee threatened him and he fled the scene again.
This is an ongoing investigation.
CO2 firearm
Around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, a 27-year-old man was taken into police custody with the use of a conducted energy weapon.
Officers had been called to the 800 block of Idylwyld Drive North for a call about a person with a firearm.éline Greimard/
A man is facing charges after being found in possession of a firearm last night.
The suspect fled on foot, but once arrested, he was found to have a CO2 firearm in his waistband.
