If your daily commute includes a stretch of road that’s in particularly rough shape, CAA Saskatchewan wants to hear from you.
The organization has kicked off its Worst Roads Campaign, an annual search for the worst roads in Saskatchewan. It’s a big job, as there are more than 250,000 kilometres of roadways in the province, so CAA asks the public to nominate and vote on the roads they think are in the worst shape or the most unsafe. Nominations open on Tuesday, and run until April 29 on CAA Saskatchewan’s website.

Last year’s winner was a stretch of Highway 8, going north from Moosomin to Rocanville, due to some very deep potholes.
“It’s actually got dangerous, really. There is a lot of traffic over it, and we’ve got a mine that employs about 1,000 people, and people have to go over it,” Larry Tomlinson, who was mayor of Moosomin at the time, said in an interview in 2024.
“Potholes and crumbling pavement have been the most prominent safety issues during the CAA Worst Roads campaigns,” CAA Saskatchewan said in a statement. “However, cracks, general disrepair, poor signage, congestion, and unsafe infrastructure have also been identified by road users.”
The 10 worst roads in the province will be announced on April 30, and results of the campaign are shared with government and business leaders in order to push for improvements.
CAA said voters will be entered into a random draw for a $1,000 Shell gift card, and the draw will also take place on April 30.
