Police in Regina concluded a month-long investigation into drug trafficking by seizing nearly a kilogram of fentanyl, the deadly opioid behind a large number of overdoses in the province.
According to police, officers with Regina’s Crime Reduction Team executed a search warrant at a home on Ottawa Street on Thursday, making three arrests and seizing a trove of illegal items.

At the home, officers seized roughly 908 grams of fentanyl and 594 grams of cocaine, along with two rifles, a handgun, two shotguns, ammunition, roughly $40,000 in cash, and jewelry “valued at approximately $15,000.”
While two of the people arrested at the home were found to be wanted on unrelated warrants, the third person – a 47-year-old man from Regina – is now facing a lengthy list of charges including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking in a scheduled substance, possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000 and possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition.
He made his first court appearance on Friday, police said.
