A Saskatchewan RCMP police dog sniffed out a significant find earlier this week when it located one kilogram of cocaine during a traffic stop.
RCMP said in a news release on March 21, that its Roving Traffic Unit proactively stopped an SUV on Highway 1 west of Regina on March 18 around 11:30 a.m., and the cocaine was found inside the vehicle.

A 41-year-old man from Calgary, who told investigators he was travelling from Alberta to Manitoba, was arrested at the scene.
He has been charged with trafficking cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and is scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on May 29.
Last week, a proactive traffic stop by Loon Lake RCMP netted a number of credit and ID cards that had been reported stolen, as well as a sawed-off firearm and drugs.
Two Cold Lake residents aged 28 and 30 are now facing 60 charges between them after the March 14 arrest.
