A Saskatoon delivery driver was attacked by two people wielding a gun and a bat early on Tuesday morning, police said.
According to the Saskatoon Police Service, the driver was dropping of an alcohol delivery at an apartment building on Avenue T South just before 1 a.m. when the attack occurred.

Police said the driver was attacked and robbed while waiting outside the building, and was “struck multiple times with the bat” before the two robbers fled the area with the booze the driver was delivering.
“The suspects are described as a male wearing all black clothing with a black mask and black gloves, as well as an approximately 4’ female with red hair wearing a black mask with white stripes,” the police service said in a statement.
“A search of the area did not locate the suspects; however, police are continuing to investigate.”
Anyone with information that could help the investigation was asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service or make an anonymous report through Crime Stoppers.
Armed man found unconscious on city bus
In a separate case on Tuesday morning, police said a 23-year-old man was arrested after he was found unconscious on a Saskatoon Transit bus, while carrying weapons.
Police were called to 23rd Street East just after midnight for a report that an intoxicated man was passed out on the bus.
“Upon police arrival, officers made attempts to wake the man; following several attempts, the man woke up and immediately became resistant to police directions,” police said in a statement.
“He was ultimately arrested and removed from the bus; a search of his person found him to be in possession of bear spray and a knife.”
Police said the man is now facing charges of possession of a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, and breaching court-imposed conditions.
He was also found to be wanted “on numerous outstanding warrants.”
Man turns himself in after alleged machete assault
On Monday, police in Saskatoon arrested a man wanted in connection with a violent assault involving a machete and a canister of bear spray.
According to police, officers were called to Junor Avenue for a report of a fight just after 8 p.m. on Saturday.
“Upon arrival, officers located a man that was visibly injured,” the police service explained in a statement.
“Further investigation by police determined that a man known to him had struck him in the face with a can of bear spray before proceeding to slash him with a machete; the suspect then fled the area.”
The victim was taken to hospital by paramedics for treatment of injuries that the police service said were not believed to be life-threatening.
Police said the 41-year-old suspect turned himself in to police at around 10:30 p.m. on Monday.
He’s now facing a charge of aggravated assault.
