A 17-year-old girl is facing criminal charges after allegedly making a threat about a bomb on the University of Saskatchewan campus in Saskatoon.
According to police, officers were called to the 100 block of Clinic Place, near the Royal University Hospital and the Leslie and Irene Dubé Health Sciences Library, just before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday after getting reports about a threat of an explosive device in a building on the U of S campus.

The building was already being evacuated by university security when police arrived on the scene, police said.
“Following continued investigation, a suspect was identified and it was determined that there was no threat to public safety,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.
Officers then headed to a home on Egbert Avenue, where they arrested the teen girl who was allegedly behind the threat. She’s been charged with public mischief and breaching court-imposed conditions.
