10:00 – The reprieve from the threat of tariffs was nice while it lasted, but next week it seems as though financial penalties on Canadian goods, imposed by the U.S., could be unavoidable. Dr. Fletcher Barager, associate professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Manitoba, joins Evan to consider the economics and has changed in the past several weeks on the tariffs issue.
LQ: Would you be willing to financially suffer in some way if it meant a long-term solution to the tariff threats from the United States? What would you be willing to give up?
10:30 – It’s nearly here — tax season! Time to figure out what you owe (or what you’re owed) in accordance with federal tax laws. To help get you started thinking about your tax return and the filing process, Evan welcomes Sababa Hossain, Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) spokesperson, to the show.
LQ: What is the hardest or most annoying part of filing your taxes each year?

11:30 – What seems to create the link between elite male hockey players and sexual assault allegations? In spite of increasing awareness of violence against women and work to support victims of sexual assault, it seems that conditions continue to exist to perpetuate sexual violence in sports against women. Delving into this and seeking a path forward, Evan is joined by Dr. Walter S. DeKeseredy, professor and Anna Deane Carlson Endowed Chair of Social Sciences, director for the Research Centre on Violence – Sociology at West Virginia University, to discuss what can be done to increase athlete accountability.
12:00 – Do you think the players, the greater elite male hockey culture, or both are to blame for the allegations of sexual violence we regularly see in this arena? Discuss with Evan at 1-877-332-8255.
