The occupant of a home in the Pleasant Hill neighbourhood of Saskatoon was found dead after a house fire early Sunday morning.
Saskatoon Fire Department (SFD) said in a news release that crews were called to a bungalow in the 2200 block of 20th Street West around 3 a.m. on Feb. 16 after receiving a report of a structure fire.

SFD sent three fire engines, a ladder truck, and a rescue unit, and said the first crew to arrive saw heavy smoke coming the main floor of the single-family home and located flames in the basement.
Utilities were shut down at the address, and the department said the fire was under control around 4:30 a.m.
Fire investigators are on scene and SFD said no further information was available but an update would be provided “as soon as practical.”
