Super Bowl champion Luke Wilson to headline annual Dogs’ Breakfast

Super Bowl champion tight end Luke Wilson will headline the University of Saskatchewan’s annual Dogs’ Breakfast on May 1 at Saskatoon’s Prairieland Park.

Wilson, who is originally from LaSalle, Ont., played eight seasons in the NFL from 2013-2020.

He was selected in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. He spent five seasons in Seattle, winning a Super Bowl with the Seahawks in his rookie year.

Wilson also spent a some time with the Detroit Lions, Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Ravens before retiring after the 2020 season.

Over the course of his career, Wilson had 111 receptions for 1,307 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Since retiring, Wilson has become as one of the faces of NFL Canada, and is one of the main analysts for TSN’s NFL broadcasts.

“We’re keeping the breakfast’s momentum strong, and who better to join us one of the most recognizable faces in Canadian football. His insights and experiences will make this year’s event incredible, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him to Saskatoon this May.”

Back in 2001, the Saskatchewan Huskie Football Foundation was created to help raise money for scholarships and academic assistance for the school’s football team.

The breakfast put on by the Huskies is one of the foundation’s biggest fundraisers of the year, and is one of the top football fundraisers in all of Canada.
