A man suspected of stealing mail from a Main Street apartment building is now facing criminal charges.
According to the Saskatoon Police Service, officers were called to an apartment building in the street’s 2000 block at around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.

“The caller reported having seen an individual breaking into mailboxes and collecting the mail,” the police service said in a statement.
The suspected thief was trying to leave when police arrived, and was arrested by the officers.
“He was found to be in possession of break and enter tools,” the police service noted.
“Two bags full of suspected stolen mail were located nearby. The mail appeared to be from three different apartment buildings in the 2000, 1600 and 1900 blocks of Main Street.”
The 56-year-old man is now facing several criminal charges, including three counts each of possession of stolen identity documents and break and enter to commit a crime. He was also charged with possession of break and enter tools.
