As the officers approached the property, they saw a man driving a tractor on the property.
“When the adult male saw the marked police vehicle, he drove towards police, attempting to ram the police cruiser with the tractor,” the Saskatchewan RCMP said in a statement.
“The adult male briefly fled in the tractor before exiting and fleeing on foot into a nearby bushed area.”
The police vehicle was not damaged, and no officers were injured, the Mounties noted.
Using an aerial drone and a police dog, the RCMP said officers tracked the man for roughly 11 kilometres along the Saskatchewan River before he was found and arrested in a treed area.
The 44-year-old man, a resident of Thompson, Man., is now charged with assaulting a police officer with a weapon, resisting arrest, fleeing from a peace officer, and breaching an undertaking.
He made his first appearance in a Prince Albert courtroom on Thursday.
