A man wanted to face a number of charges that include robbery, serious assault and firearms offences has been arrested by Swift Current RCMP.

Matthew Neufeld, 28, was arrested on Dec. 6 on his outstanding warrants and RCMP found ammunition and weapons when he was arrested, police said in a news release on Dec. 13
As a result, Neufeld is facing two additional charges — possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon — as well as the 18 other offences with which he was previously charged.
These are:
- Robbery with a firearm.
- Assault with a weapon.
- Careless use of a firearm.
- Pointing a firearm.
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
- Dangerously discharging a firearm.
- Six counts of failing to comply with probation order.
- Break and entering.
- Two counts of assault causing bodily harm.
- Theft over $5,000.
- Theft under $5,000.
- Wearing a disguise with the intent to commit an offence.
Many of these charges were also laid against Medicine Hat man Nicolas Belanger after a home was broken in Swift Current on Oct. 29 where two people were assaulted, cash and a vehicle was stolen. Belanger was arrested in Alberta on Nov. 19.
Neufeld is scheduled to appear in Swift Current Provincial Court on Dec. 18.
