The man wanted for murder after the death of a 33-year-old man on White Bear First Nation on Dec. 3 has been arrested by Saskatchewan RCMP.
RCMP said in a news release on Sunday that Jeremy Whitebear was arrested at a home on White Bear First Nation, about 40 kilometres northeast of Estevan, on Dec. 7. Whitebear is facing a second-degree murder charge in the death of 33-year-old Talon Lonethunder.
Police are still looking for 26-year-old Dwayne Maxie, who is charged with manslaughter in Lonethunder’s death.
Maxie, who lives on White Bear First Nation, is about 6-foot-2 tall and weighs around 250 lbs. He has brown eyes and black hair. Police said Maxie also goes by the name Georgie.
RCMP said Maxie should not be approached, but any sightings and information about where he might be should be reported to Saskatchewan RCMP at 310-RCMP, a local police service or to inform Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or at saskcrimestoppers.com.
Whitebear is in custody and scheduled to appear in Estevan Provincial Court on Dec. 9.
