“Investigation determined an adult male stole a vehicle from a group of individuals at gunpoint. No physical injuries were reported,” the RCMP explained in a statement. “The vehicle has since been recovered.”
The investigation led to criminal charges against 24-year-old Wayne McLeod, from La Ronge. The RCMP said he’s charged with robbery with a firearm, theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
A warrant has been issued for McLeod’s arrest, and the Mounties asked the public to report any sightings of him.
“Wayne McLeod is described as having dark hair and brown eyes. He has a thin build. He has a small tattoo under one eye and numerous neck tattoos,” the RCMP said.
“If you see him, do not approach him.”
Saskatchewan has seen a number of armed carjackings in recent months, including a case north of Prince Albert in October that saw a man shot and left for dead while thieves took off with his truck.
