Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) had a busy start to the weekend investigating a sudden death, conducting another investigation in the city involving a “significant police presence,” and dealing with a number of collisions in the city because of the freezing drizzle.

In a news release on Friday night, SPS said the sudden death investigation in the 1300 block of 8th Street East, at the Copper Mug pub, involved a significant police presence and traffic restrictions. Early Saturday morning there was still a police presence in the area.
Police supplied no further details but asked that anyone with any information to contact Saskatoon Police at 306-975-8300 or to inform Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or at saskcrimestoppers.com.
Also on Friday night, SPS said officers were conducting an ongoing investigation in the 300 block of Avenue Q South that involved a significant police presence exists and traffic restrictions as well.
No further information was provided, and police said an update would be provided at the conclusion of the investigation, or “when new information becomes known”.
