Some Credit Union users have run into issues on Friday.
In this province, some people woke up this morning to quite a few problems involving things like direct deposits, cheque clearing, wires being unavailable, and other transactions.
According to Garnett Volk, the Chief Growth Officer for Conexus Credit Union, the problem stems from a hardware issue that happened late last night that caused a network outage affecting one of their third-party suppliers.
Volk said that the problem was far-reaching.
“It spans across many provinces. It’s a prairie credit union system network issue,” said Volk.
As for Conexus users, many of their problems have since been resolved.
“The hardware issue that we were speaking about previously has now been fixed, and payments are now processing. Our members are going to start to see payments in their accounts, and processing is going to continue until all the payments are made,” said Volk.
If members continue to have issues regarding transactions, Volk said to reach out.
“We encourage all of our members to reach out to their local branch advisor or a member contact centre, and we’ll make the necessary arrangements to ensure that any fees or penalties as a direct result of this are covered off,” said Volk.
The issue is expected to be resolved province-wide by the end of the day.
