The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is alerting the public to a risk of Salmonella typhi (Typhoid fever) exposure.
This exposure happened at Domino’s Pizza in Martensville on 717 Centennial Drive S. between Oct. 11 and 19.
Typhoid Fever is a serious illness. It can cause a handful of symptoms like fever, headache, fatigue, rash on the upper body, constipation, diarrhea and vomiting.
It is spread through eating food or water contaminated with the bacteria.
Symptoms can develop anywhere from three to 60 days after exposure to the bacteria. However, it is more common for symptoms to show eight to 14 days after exposure.
If you consumed food from this location between this time and are experiencing symptoms of typhoid fever, seek care from your doctor of call 811.
Typhoid fever infection is rare, and although serious, is treatable with antibiotics. The risk to those exposed is considered low.
Martensville is eight kilometres north of Saskatoon.
