A contracting company has been ordered to pay $125,000 after a worker near Brownlee, Sask. was injured in a fall last year.
According to the Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety, Bakke Contracting Ltd. pleaded guilty to a single violation of Saskatchewan’s occupational health and safety regulations in a Moose Jaw courtroom earlier this month.

The company was fined $89,285.71 along with a surcharge of $35,714.29, for a total of $125,000, and four additional charges were withdrawn.
According to the ministry, the charges stemmed from an incident when a worker in the Brownlee area suffered serious injures after falling from an elevated platform on February 20, 2023.
Brownlee is located about 60 kilometres northwest of Moose Jaw.
