A traffic stop conducted by the Saskatoon Police Service ended with three adults being charged and two children transferred into the care of crisis workers.
On Thursday morning just before 1:30 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle in the 30th Street West and Avenue H North area, as it did not have a license plate.
The news release said “Upon speaking with the occupants, officers could smell beverage alcohol emitting from the vehicle. As the occupants were exiting the vehicle, officers observed multiple bottles of open alcohol and a modified rifle with what was later determined to be a loaded prohibited magazine on the floor in the rear seat.”
Officers found rounds of various ammunition, quantities of different drugs, mobile phones and some cash.
