A Saskatchewan company is stepping up to help improve services at Prince Albert’s Victoria Hospital.
Redhead Equipment announced a $150,000 commitment to the $40 million “Equip the Vic” campaign. The hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment and expansion, which will increase its capacity by 40 per cent and add a new acute-care tower.
According to the Boreal Healthcare Foundation, Redhead’s contribution will help fund enhancements at the hospital including medical equipment, furniture and fixtures. As a result of the donation, the pediatrics procedure and resuscitation room at the new Victoria Hospital will be named in the company’s honour.
“Saskatchewan families deserve the best healthcare close to home,” Cody Barnett, CEO of the Boreal Healthcare Foundation, said in a statement.
“Redhead Equipment’s support is a commitment to the families who help sustain our province. Their contribution comes at a time when we’re especially thankful for the communities that drive Saskatchewan forward. Their generosity will have a lasting impact on the 150,000 people who rely on Victoria Hospital every year.”
According to the foundation, the campaign is aiming to ensure the hospital will be fully equipped and ready to go when the expansion is complete.
“The new acute care tower is expected to open in 2028, and with the help of donors like Redhead Equipment, the hospital will be fully equipped to serve the growing needs of the region,” the Boreal Healthcare Foundation said in a statement.
