A sinkhole has opened up in Saskatoon’s Haultain neighbourhood.
Road closures and pylons surrounded the deep hole on Clarence Avenue South at Third Street East, potentially causing issues for parents of children attending the nearby École canadienne-française – Pavillon Monique-Rousseau School.
This is going to cause a bump in the road for the school run… 🚍🚸

The sinkhole is surrounded by mud and sludge, and the City of Saskatoon said the area is closed for unplanned water main repairs. While water service was briefly shut off for a few homes, the city said nobody is currently out of water.
“Detours are in place to allow for the work to proceed today and that repairs are normally scheduled for the following day after a break happens,” the city said in a statement emailed to 650 CKOM.
Saskatoon Transit may be affected by detours in the area, the city added, and bus users were advised that transit service alerts and real-time bus information are available on third-party apps like Transit and Google Maps Transit on desktop.
