One person has been arrested in connection with an incident that saw shots fired at a motorist who was trying to help another driver on the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation.
According to the RCMP, the shots were fired just before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

“It was reported that a driver was travelling on a grid road on the north boundary of Ahtahkakoop when they came across a black Chevrolet Equinox parked on the side of the road, looking in need of assistance,” the Saskatchewan RCMP explained in a statement.
“The individual pulled over and approached the Equinox. The driver of the Equinox pointed a firearm at the individual and reportedly discharged it in their direction multiple times. No injuries have been reported to police.”
Police said they believe three people were inside the Equinox at the time of the shooting – a man and two women..
“The vehicle should not be approached. The occupants are considered armed and dangerous. The public is asked to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police,” the RCMP advised.
Just after 11:30 p.m. the RCMP announced that officers had arrested a man in connection with the shooting, though no further details were shared.
“The investigation remains ongoing,” the RCMP noted.
