Two people were taken to hospital in Saskatoon on Monday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle in Pleasant Hill.
Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) said in a news release that officers were called to the 100 block of Avenue S South around 3 p.m. on Sept, 2, 2024 for what was believed to be a fight involving a knife.
Police found a man lying in an alley with serious injuries, who told them he had been hit by a vehicle. He was taken to hospital.
Police then learned a woman had also been also driven to hospital after being hit by a vehicle and officers believe both were hit by the same one in the same alley. Police also found a knife in the alley.
The driver turned himself in at SPS Service Centre, where he was taken into custody and later released pending further investigation.
Police said the victims and suspect were known to each other. The serious assault unit is continuing to investigate.
Stabbing under investigation
A 24-year-old woman who told police she was stabbed while getting a ride to Saskatoon from Prince Albert was taken to hospital on Saturday.
Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) said in a new release on Tuesday that the stabbing was reported to officers around 6 a.m. on Aug. 31, 2024 and the injured woman was located near Meadows Blvd and Stilling Lane in Rosewood. Further updates stated a female had been stabbed.
The woman was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The SPS serious assault unit is still investigating, police said on Tuesday.
Drive-by shooting injures man
Several bullet casings were found on the street outside a home in the King George neighbourhood of Saskatoon in a drive-by shooting on Saturday.
SPS said in a news release on Sept. 3 that officers were called to the 800 block of Avenue I South around 3:50 a.m. on Aug. 31 for a report of an injured man after shots were fired at a home from a vehicle.
Police found an injured man who was taken to hospital with what were believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
SPS said they found video of the incident and several bullet casings were found on the street outside.
The serious assault unit is investigating.

Loaded firearm found in backpack
A 34-year-old man is facing several firearms charges, and and charge of possession of methamphetamine after an arrest on Aug. 30.
SPS said in a Sept. 3 news release that around 4:50 p.m. officers spotted a man who was wanted sitting on a bike in the 900 Block of 22nd Street West in Pleasant Hill.
When they attempted to the man he took off on the bike. He was arrested in an alley north of 22nd Street. The man had thrown off a backpack, police said, that held a loaded firearm.
