A man and a woman were arrested in Saskatoon on Monday evening after allegedly slashing a tire, and then firing a gunshot into the air.
According to police, officers were called to Avenue P North in the city’s Westmount neighbourhood at around 7:20 p.m.
“Initial information stated a male and female slashed a tire and when confronted, pulled out and discharged a firearm into the air,” the police force explained in a statement.

“Upon arrival, officers were able to speak with the victims. Shortly after, police located and arrested the suspects without incident a few blocks away.”
Police said the 25-year-old man was carrying a loaded gun, ammunition, bear spray, a folding knife and methamphetamine at the time of his arrest, while the 23-year-old woman was carrying bear spray and methamphetamine.
The man was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and other weapons-related charges, police said, while the woman is facing charges related to weapons, possession of a controlled substance, mischief, and failing to comply with court-ordered conditions.
