Rock 102’s annual Show & Shine Downtown Car Show drew more than 30,000 people to downtown Saskatoon on Sunday.
The event is part of the Show & Shine Weekend, which has been a summer staple in Saskatoon for more than 40 years.
This year’s car show featured 35 car clubs, which lined more than 600 parking stalls in the city’s downtown core, as thousands came out to check out all of the vintage classics, muscle cars and more. Some of the cars were even on sale and out for prospective buyers to view.

This year set a record for food, with more than 57 vendors on site selling a wide variety of meals, snacks and treats. The sun was hot on Sunday, so downtown patios and restaurants had a lot of business serving cold drinks.

“The show is as much about the people as it is about the vehicles,” said Scott Zimmerman, who started coming to the event in 2022.
“Everyone has a story, and the entire weekend really sparks that nostalgic factor. As a fairly new car club member, I love walking downtown, seeing the cars and looking back as everyone shares their own account of why they attend every year. It’s a real honour knowing that I now get to be a part of the heritage of one of Saskatoon’s biggest summer events.”
The weekend also featured the Rock the River music festival, with performances by Trooper, Harlequin, Nazareth, Prism and more, as well as the Show & Shine Night Out at the Races at Sutherland Automotive Speedway.
